In the foothills of the majestic Cascade Mountains of WA, the mighty Columbia River cuts a wide swath through the charming Wenatchee Valley, home of Daniel Lain. Born in the Panhandle of Texas and raised in the heart of Georgia, after moving out west, he spent several years on a working cattle ranch, training horses and chasing Gold Buckle dreams in the rodeo. As a U.S. Marine, he spent 6 months in the Mediterranean, as well as serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom and the Haitian conflict shortly thereafter. While stationed in Camp Lejeune, NC, he attended St. Seraphim of Sarov Orthodox Church in Richmond, VA. After 4 years of honorable service, Sgt Lain returned home where he works as a machinist in the aerospace and electronics industry, and now attends St. Nectarios American Orthodox Cathedral in Seattle, WA. As an Orthodox Christian, he knows that Orthodoxy is a lifestyle not a religion, the aim of which is the cure of the soul within the fullness of the Orthodox Tradition. He is highly motivated to spread Orthodoxy to the remote Wenatchee Valley thus strengthening and unifying this great heritage we have been given. Previously serving as a St. Xenia camp counselor as well as lending his skills at the Convent of the Meeting of the Lord, he looks forward to experiencing future SPFL events offering a labor of love in return for nothing more than the prayers and well-being of those in need. |
